"We Have Hope"
About Us
At Watye Ki Gen, “We Have Hope” guides all we do. Since 2013, we have supported vulnerable children and communities in Northern Uganda through livelihoods, sponsorship, psychosocial care, and reintegration of children born war and sexual violence. Together with our partners, we build dignity, strengthen families, and create sustainable futures. With your support, hope becomes reality.

Message from the
Country Director
At Watye Ki Gen, our name means We Have Hope and that hope continues to guide everything we do. Since our founding in 2013, we have stood as role models for resilience, dignity, and the power of community.
Our work is dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and communities in Gulu and Amuru districts. Through our projects in livelihoods, sponsorship, psychosocial support, and reintegration, we ensure that children born of war, their mothers, and other vulnerable groups are not defined by hardship, but by the opportunities we create together.
From building sustainable livelihoods, to offering psychosocial care, to supporting education through sponsorship, and helping families reintegrate with dignity, we are committed to transforming lives with compassion and purpose.
This journey is not ours alone. It is made possible through the solidarity of friends, partners, and communities who believe, as we do, that every child deserves belonging, and every family deserves dignity.
As Country Director, I am proud of the progress we have made, but even more inspired by the path ahead. Together, we will continue to build hope, strengthen families, and create sustainable futures for those who have endured so much.
We have hope and with your support, we turn that hope into reality.
